An Alternaria fungus allergy is an adverse reaction by the body's immune system to spores produced by a fungus called Alternaria. Alternaria is a common outdoor mold and can cause severe asthmatic symptoms as well as other allergy symptoms. Symptoms tend to occur in a seasonal pattern as spore production by molds tends to increase and decrease with changes in seasons. The specific symptoms that can result can vary amongst patients.
